In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the official statement, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations reverberate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret group.
The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
